Arizona Office of Tourism awards Hills Balfour contract for trade representation

Sep 26, 2017

28 September 2017. The Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT) recently expanded its outreach in the UK and
Ireland to include trade representation. The contract for this service was awarded to Hills Balfour. In
addition, Hills Balfour was awarded the contract to provide PR representation for AOT in the UK and
Ireland for the seventh consecutive year. The expansion of AOT's outreach demonstrates its long-standing
and continued commitment to these markets.

Arizona is filled with a multitude of travel experiences that include rich western and American Indian
heritage and culture, a diverse geography, world-class spas and resorts, exciting outdoor adventures,
unique natural scenery, a wide array of culinary experiences and over 325 days of sunshine per year.
Through strategic and tactical public relations and trade initiatives, Hills Balfour will showcase these
diverse offerings.

Debbie Johnson, Director of the Arizona Office of Tourism commented, “The UK and Ireland are important
markets for Arizona and we expect to grow them with British Airways’ increased nonstop flight service into
Phoenix. Our continued relationship with Hills Balfour is crucial to this effort. Together, we look forward to
inspiring and educating UK and Irish travellers about Arizona, which is one of the most distinctly beautiful
destinations in all of North America.”

With British Airways announcing increased service into Phoenix from London Heathrow in 2018, the
Arizona Office of Tourism's objective is to ensure flight seats are filled. In support of this, there are already
a number of tactical activations planned to kick off the new contract. The most imminent will take place at
the upcoming NFL Arizona Cardinals game at Twickenham Stadium on October 22nd.

Amanda Hills, CEO at Hills Balfour said, ‘’We are absolutely thrilled to continue our long-standing
relationship with Arizona and to extend our service to look after their trade and marketing activity in the
UK and Ireland. The Grand Canyon state offers such a diverse experience for visitors, with stunning
landscapes, western American culture and the first United States UNESCO City of Gastronomy in Tucson.
With its varied attractions, Arizona appeals to all types of travellers including families, couples and
adventure seekers. We are looking forward to furthering our communications strategy and promoting the
destination to both the UK and Irish media and trade representatives through various tradeshows, brand
partnerships, agent training and familiarization trips.’’

Hills Balfour PR director Amy Scott will lead public relations activities, with day-to-day management led by
PR Account Manager Grace Armitage and Account Executive Anastasia Sewell.
Hills Balfour Sales and Marketing Account Director Samuel Hancock will lead trade activity supported by
Account Manager Karis Masham and Account Executive Katie Gould.
